The Sun Tarot Card Description

(Description based on the original Smith-Waite tarot card)

The Sun Tarot card features a bright and shining sun in the sky. There are four sunflowers representing the four tarot suits. In the foreground, a naked child frolics upon a white horse, symbolizing purity and childhood innocence. The child embodies your inner child, and their nakedness is to show that they have nothing to hide.

The Sun Tarot Card Upright

The upright Sun tarot card is one of the most positive cards that can be drawn in the tarot deck. Full of joy, optimism, and luck, this card signifies that great things are in store. Everything you touch will be blessed with good luck. If you've been the victim of deceit or false accusations, the Sun tarot card shines a light on the truth, bringing honesty and enlightenment to the situation. This revealing light also applies to relationships. Although this card usually refers to things going smoothly, the sun can illuminate any hidden issues you both want to keep in the dark. If you and your partner have been thinking of having children, the Sun tarot card is one of the best pregnancy indicator cards in the deck. If you're single, the Sun card can indicate that you're living it up, happy and carefree.

This happy enthusiasm continues into other areas of life. In work, new opportunities or promotions may be on your way. With the sun's bright and cheerful energy, everyone seems to gravitate towards you. Use this magnetism to your advantage. Since this is a card of abundance and good luck, your finances may also turn towards the brighter side. But remember to set some of that windfall away. The sun will also shine a light on any hidden debts.

The Sun Tarot Card Reversed

The Sun Tarot card can have two seemingly different meanings in its reversed polarity. The first is unfounded sadness and pessimism. Remember that your circumstances aren't necessarily bad, just that you can't seem to see the good. The good things are shrouded in darkness with no light to illuminate them. On the other end of the spectrum, you might be flying too high and need to come back down to earth. You're overly enthusiastic and perhaps have an overly rosy view of things. Re-evaluate your current position and be sure you have double-checked that everything is in order.

In relationships, the reversed Sun Tarot card can symbolize the fire going out. Perhaps you've lost the passion you once shared and now can't see a way for the relationship to progress. Remember the positives and see if you can navigate safer waters. If you're single, you might be so overconfident that you're pushing away potential suitors. I'd never suggest dimming your light to suit someone else, but perhaps keep yourself more guarded and see how things go before throwing yourself all in.
